Stair Treads

Prior to the hematoma incident, I was about to post about the grippy tape I put on the steps.  I am very into Chevron these days and stumbled upon a DIY Chevron project for the risers of the stairs.  I showed it to Mark.  He liked it but thought we should leave them natural wood. He puts up with many many DIY projects that I start and then abandon when I get bored with them.  Right now I am probably in the middle of at least five projects and since my mom came we started another one!
Thankfully I knew I didn't have the stamina to start and finish this cool project and worried that it wouldn't look good.  But when I got the ugly roll of industrial grippy sandpaper tape that was six inches wide, I decided to do something fun with it and make my Chevron pattern.  I spent a lot of time on these.  I was losing steam after completing five steps but fortunately my mom came just in time to help me complete them.  So here it is!  I hope it helps prevent some falls.

Good for you, it looks great! Did you paint or stain the tops? I love it.

just the bottom two photos with the clear tread are mine. I didn't paint them which is probably a good thing!
